Hello from Washington DC!!

A group of a dozen volunteers, team leads and your local State Coordinators are all in Washington DC, at the bi-annual conference -- and today, we need your help!

Today, Monday March 23, we are going to each congressional office for our Southern California area. We have meetings with staff members of some offices, and are delivering packets to others.

Each and every one of you should call your Member of Congress, and your two Senators (Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator Barbara Boxer -- the large group of California volunteers are meeting with their staff Monday afternoon!) -- three phone calls.

Say whatever your heart tells you, or some version of the following:

Hello, my name is (say your name), and I live at (address). I am aware that some of my fellow volunteers are visiting your office today, delivering information about the campaign for a Department of Peace, HR 808 in the House. I am in support of this movement and this legislation, and would like to hear from the Representative / Senator about their view on this legislation. Please let him/her know that I called, and that I join the group that is visiting the office in requesting his / her support. Thank you for all that you do in service of our district!

Go to www.congress.org if you are not sure who your elected Representative is, and input your zipcode for elected officials. You may need to input your address, as well -- many districts split zip codes.
