With Rob Atkinson’s passing in the hearts and minds of many of the conference attendees, a brief memorial was held for him Sunday morning as a way to celebrate his life and all his work with the campaign.

With this incredible conference entering into its final days, Sunday morning began with grassroots sharing where the campaign heard about the various successes across the nation both in the general Peace Alliance campaign and the Student Peace Alliance.

More than 400 citizen lobbyists from over 40 states are meeting with their members of Congress today to tell them how Peace directly correlates with economic growth. More than 200 visits are planned on Capitol Hill to lobby for the establishment of a U.S. Department of Peace.

Today, members of the Peace Alliance and Student Peace Alliance Conference traveled through an experience that will forever impact their lives. The morning session was called, “Be the Hero You’ve Been Waiting For.”

As many of us know, it isn’t often that one crosses an organization like the The Peace Alliance, and the general Department of Peace campaign. Tonight we began our conference by reigniting old friendships from previous events and conferences, both with people inside our states as well as with people across the nation.

Paul Chepikian out did himself again in creating a fantastic new video and then packaged it with some of our other videos in a new DVD called Peace Earth.
